Indeed Bijan, we humans have not changed at all since the days we worshipped the 'Golden Calf of Greed'. Another point our religious and political leaders should learn about is - the unimgaginable vast size of the Universe, so that they can see where the "importance" of them - and their all to often ludicrous ideas fits in. -
Bijan Pirnia replied:
I concur. Compared to our ancestors many centuries ago, we have more information in our heads; but we do not seem to be wiser. We're still invloved in tribalism just as our ancesors were thousands of years ago. funny how certain things never change.

Bijan you captured an exceptionally briliant art-photo of the Sun God. - Like Akhenaton, perhaps we too should all worship the Sun as our God - instead of killing each other over our different views of what God is, or of what God is not! After all - without the Sun there would be nothing but darkness and no life whatsoever !
Bijan Pirnia replied:
My dear Hartmut, I couldn't agree more. You speak my language quite eloquently. What we have here is sweet coincidence. During the last few days, I've been reading a book titled God by one of the preeminent scholars of our time, professor Reza Azlan. He chronicles a history of beliefs in God throughout the ages. He demonstrates clearly how God (or our perception of Him) changes as we do. Of course, in today's world, the only god we worship is the almighty dollar. We worship it with the kind of devotion that would put any religious zealot to shame. Nothing has captured our hearts and minds as strongly as consumerism has; and we're paying an extremely heavy price for it.
