For decades, some of the most spectacular landscape I have photographed were also in some of the coldest temperatures, as low as 16 below zero here in the Colorado Rockies.

You can see why I fell in love with Virginia many years ago. It was truly love at first sight. I miss it sorely; but I'm in love with Colorado even more. There's something about the spirit of the American southwest that I can't describe in words; but I know it's real, at least for me because I'm often moved to tears when I find myself in the peace and serenity of nature.
