Description
illuminated Santa Clause in Victor / Cripple Creek mining district, Teller County, the Pikes Peak region, Colorado
In Victor / Cripple Creek gold mining district of the Pikes Peak region in Colorado, there's a long history of decorating the historic mining head frames between Thanksgiving and the first week of January. If you're ever in our neck of the woods around that time, you will see some of the most creative Christmas decorations ever. One may be in the shape of the kind of sock you hang from your mantle, the kind that Santa leaves presents in. Another decoration might me in the shape of a bell complete with the hammer at the center. Yet another might be in the shape of the Star of David, and so on. So, if you're ever here around Christmas, don't miss Victor / Cripple Creek district.
