Nice nightscape, Bijan. How long was the exposure to get the rock wall this bright but the moon still? Is it a composite or different light source projected on the wall? Just curious. (You don’t have to call me beautiful or young, or lady. πŸ˜‚)

Bijan Pirnia replied:

Good morning to sweet Alinna, our honorable artist par excellence, I thank you, my lady, for your interest in my work and for stopping by an keeping in touch. This image was in color originally. I converted it to selenium tone black 'n white in Lightroom; and then, made the sky jet-black in Photoshop. In the olden days when I was shooting film, I could achieve the same dark sky effect by using a dark red filter in front of the lens. Nowadays, thanks to digital technology, I do not have to carry a whole arsenal of filters in my camera bag. I can create the same filter effects in Photoshop. My knowledge of Photoshop is extremely limited. I simply do the things I used to do the old-fashioned way in a darkroom. I don't alter the image. I don't put anything into the shot that was not put there my Mother Nature. That was a long-winded answer to your brief question. I hope all is well with you, dear.

so true and a fabulous photo to accompany those inspiring words. Just thinking how many nights I have spent walking by moonlight?

Bijan Pirnia replied:

Hello, lady beautiful, I thank you, friend, for bringing joy to my gallery every time you stop by.
