the east view from Independence Pass around late May / early June in San Isabel National Forest in central Colorado. Independence Pass is located on State Hwy. 82 and connects U.S. Hwy. 24 to the mountain town of Aspen and from there to Glenwood Springs on I-70. The title of this image is part of a poem by Mary Summer-Rain.

I hope some day you get a chance to visit this glorious place if you haven't already. You can drive all the way to the summit of Independence Pass at about 12000 feet above sea level.
