You have some wonderful collections in your gallery Bijan. Besides my fine art painting practice, in the past, I've been part of NGOs working and addressing these very concerns vis-a-vis the environment and biodiversity. Reforestation is the only answer and solution IMHO. And out here in India, there are many such initiatives being undertaken to re-green hills and arid land. One of my students and friend are doing some very good work in this regard. I love trees and nature and in Buddhism and Hinduism there has been an ancient tradition of asceticism which advocates withdrawing into nature and meditating in forests as a way of life when one reaches a certain stage in life. Ofcourse we urbanised, city dwellers lead a life that is antithetical to these ancient traditions but again...there's a surge of social movements amongst younger people these days to move away from the big urban centers and create a different reality in nature...as organic farmers, horticulturalists, permaculturalists, food foresters, social entrepreneurs among others and that's an interesting model too.

The title speaks volumes of the rampant ecological degradation of our planet and perfectly fit the powerful emotion the visual evokes. How long before our species awakens...how long before the collective conscience and consciousness accounts for it role and begins to ACT! Faved!
Bijan Pirnia replied:
I agree wholeheartedly with your thoughtful viewpoint, dear Renu. I have asked those and similar questions many times. I find it so heart-breaking what we're doing to our home (our planet) and how we're desecrating the very air, water, and soil we depend on for our survival. You can get a better sense of my love of nature if you read my bio. I'm delighted you stopped by my gallery. Thank you for keeping in touch.

As always Bijan- amazing photography . But the title makes me smile with the wisdom that your reveal. The oldest Bristlecone Pine trees in California spoke the very same words when I saw them. Life and humans are a mystery.
Bijan Pirnia replied:
Your words and glorious gallery tell me that you are indeed a wise, gentle soul and an amazing artist. I so appreciate your keeping in touch from time to time, beautiful Susan. You honor me every time you stop by my gallery. I'm grateful for that.
