I adore cactus, and this fabulous close-up with the red cactus flowers is superb!
Bijan Pirnia replied:
Claret cup cactus is one of the most ubiquitous plants in the Rockies. It's one of many spices of cacti we have around here.

Thank you, Jens Larsen for featuring my favorite cactus in ALL NATURAL SCENERY LANDSCAPE group.

Bijan, these are absolutely divine Claret Cup Cacti! When I lived in the Southwest, it was always such a thrill to discover them while hiking! l/f
Bijan Pirnia replied:
I agree wholeheartedly, my lady. They ARE divine. There is something about the spirit of the American southwest (especially Colorado) that is divine. I cannot put it into words; but I know it's real (at least for me.) It often moves me to tears and fills my heart with gratitude.

Thank you kindly, Natalie Ortiz for featuring this lovely creation in the group THE CREATOR'S TOUCH.

I have been there several times actually, mainly Estes Park area, fond childhood memories of camping trips there with the fam and then a couple vacations later on as well. Just a breath away from heaven, indeed. :)

Excellent capture of an exquisitely beautiful plant. Such a refreshingly different world is yours from mine. :)
Bijan Pirnia replied:
so sweet to hear from you, Mary. I hope you're in great health. You're correct : The Colorado Rockies is a different world. It is high mountain paradise. Have you ever been to our neck of the woods? For years, I've been saying Colorado is just a breath away from heaven.
